Orti di San Tomaso, Bergamo: creating value for the city
As part of the Orti Nuovi residential initiative in Bergamo, work has begun on the regeneration of the Orti di San Tomaso, approximately 12,000 square metres of ancient countryside that have been transferred to the city, which will be annexed and connected to the Parco Suardi, thus creating a green space in the heart of Bergamo of approximately 25,000 square metres.
The Orti have been the subject of a major recovery of the pre-existing greenery, a preparatory step to the building site of the area and subsequently to proceed with the realisation of the urbanisation works, such as the new cycle-pedestrian path that will connect the Suardi Park with the GAMeC and that will allow to reach the area of the former Montelungo-Colleoni barracks and via Pignolo.
