Modena, La Corni: the structure of temporary residences for students and young professionals has been completed

The first phase of the regeneration of the former Fonderia Corni area in Modena is progressing at full speed. The construction of the temporary residences for students and young professionals has been completed in line with the planned opening in September 2025.

Morbio Costruzioni S.p.a. is the general contractor that with over 40 workers completed the temporary residence structure in less than 9 months.

The next phase of the construction site has already begun with the start of the interior work.

Structured in two main volumes, of six and seven floors, with 366 bedrooms (some of them at special prices) and 34 rooms for overnight stays, the temporary residences are located just a few minutes from the railway station and only 2 km from the University of Modena.
The facility will be managed by CampusX and will be equipped with study rooms, a communal kitchen, cinema room, relaxation area, laundry, games area, lounge and meeting area, as well as a panoramic roof and green spaces.

The first phase of the regeneration of the former Fonderia Corni area includes, in addition to the temporary residences, retail shops and a first part of the public park of approximately 5,300 square metres.

The initiative aims to give back to the city an area that has been disused for more than ten years and is the first part of an important urban, social and environmental regeneration intervention destined to transform the face of the northern area of Modena.
