Bergamo, Orti Nuovi and Orti San Tomaso: BergamoTV takes you inside the Construction Site!

The regeneration work on the historic ex-Canossiane complex and the Orti di San Tomaso is progressing at a fast pace! Soon, the Orti will be connected to Parco Suardi, opening a new gateway to Bergamo.

The regeneration of the Orti di San Tomaso is underway to make the area accessible to the community: 12,000sqm of green space returned to the city, featuring a new entrance linking the Orti to Parco Suardi, a pedestrian bridge connecting to GAMeC, and a cycling and walking path that crosses the area, extending to the former Montelungo-Colleoni barracks and Via Pignolo.

Francesco Valesini, Councillor for Urban Regeneration of the Municipality of Bergamo, highlights the high environmental and social value of the Orti regeneration initiative, emphasizing a natural setting that many residents of Bergamo have yet to discover.

At the same time, work is underway on the ex-Canossiane complex. The project will create 62 high-end apartments, ranging from two-room to five-room units, along with office spaces and underground parking accessible from Via San Giovanni. Additionally, new architectural designs will introduce courtyards, green spaces, balconies, loggias, and private gardens, all with a strong focus on sustainability and urban integration. The expected completion date is by the end of 2026.
